I offer counselling and holistic psychotherapy for all types of trauma and complex PTSD. You may have experienced violence in the home, a physical or sexual attack, the death of a family member, alcohol abuse or been neglected, devalued or made to feel unwanted. Experience the world as a safe place through my gentle brain and body approach.
Post traumatic stress disorder suggests that there is something wrong with you, or that you need to be fixed. While I use these commonly used terms, I do not believe you have a disorder; instead, I understand that you have done what you needed to in order to survive your childhood experience, traumatic event or systems of origin.
Your symptoms, while unimaginable for some, tell a courageous story of survival. Whether you suffer from intrusive thoughts, struggle to regulate your emotions, find it difficult to trust others or experience self-loathing, my approach helps you to achieve safety, so you can begin the process of exploring how unsafe you’ve been and felt in the past.
What you can expect in trauma and complex PTSD counselling
My compassionate methods reconnect you to the hurt, suffering or disassociated parts of your inner self, restoring a sense of wholeness and developing your capacity for sitting with your past and the challenges of your present. Sometimes, our stories reveal something that wants to be seen and healed. And if the story you want to share is horrifying, know that I will be there for you.
What do trauma counselling sessions include?
Our sessions will be a mix of theory, witnessing, inner work practices, mind-body interventions, nervous system regulation, psychodrama and practical integration.
How often should you attend trauma counselling?
I will meet you where and when you’re ready. You’re empowered to create a trauma therapy schedule that suits your needs, at your own pace. Remember, telling your story is an option, not a requirement.
